About the Role
As Program Officer, you will lead efforts to identify, fund, and scale workforce development programs that equip individuals with the skills needed for today’s and tomorrow’s economy. You will work closely with grantee partners, research institutions, and internal stakeholders to ensure programs are data-informed, community-responsive, and outcomes-focused.
This role requires a strong understanding of workforce systems, program design, and policy landscapes — along with the ability to translate complex ideas into actionable initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a portfolio of grants focused on upskilling, vocational education, and employment readiness
- Identify high-impact partners and build collaborative relationships with nonprofits, training institutions, and policy organizations
- Use labor market data and outcome metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and inform funding decisions
Support the development and dissemination of research and thought leadership on workforce trends - Ensure grant compliance, track milestones, and monitor impact
- Collaborate with internal teams on storytelling, communications, and learning agendas
- Lead field scans and needs assessments in target geographies
- Contribute to strategy development and long-term planning for the Economic Opportunity vertical
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in public policy, education, economics, or a related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in workforce development, philanthropy, or nonprofit program management
- Strong analytical and communication skills — able to synthesize data into actionable insights
- Experience designing or managing grants or programs at scale
- Comfortable with technology, data platforms, and performance measurement tools
- Ability to build trust and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills
