Below are frequently asked questions and answers about Tools for Dialogue Across Differences in Jewish organizations. More info about the program can be found here.

When should I plan to implement the program? Between January and June 2025.

What if my organization wants to participate but missed the deadline? The deadline to submit the interest form for the first set of training sessions is Friday, September 27, 2024. If you are interested but have missed the deadline, please email ariella@maimonidesfund.org.

What’s the time commitment for leaders and their staff?

  • Staff commitment: 7 hours over 8 weeks
  • 2 live workshops (2.25 hours split before and after online lessons)
  • 6 online lessons (3 hours over 6 weeks)
  • 3 peer-to-peer conversations (1.5 hours over 6 weeks)
  • Organizational leadership commitment: 1.5 days in NYC from October 30-31, 2024.
  • [Optional] Facilitator commitment: 1.5 days of training in NYC on December 2-3, 2024.

Do I need to use all of the programming? The programming is designed to be used as an integrated package. From our experience, conducting leadership training without broader staff training, or vice versa, is unlikely to yield a meaningful change in your organizational culture.

Who/how many people from my organization need to attend the leadership training? To get the most value out of this experience, we encourage organizational leaders to attend the training along with 2 of your senior staff who would be responsible for implementing this initiative. However, if you are unable to attend, you can send 2-3 members of your senior staff who will be responsible for implementing this initiative.

How do I get a facilitator to deliver the workshops? If you have specific staff members with facilitation experience who are interested in being trained, they can attend our facilitator training program and lead your organization’s live sessions. If not, we will provide a trainer who has been certified to deliver these trainings for Jewish non-profits to lead these trainings in person at your organization.

What is the facilitator training? The facilitator training is an opportunity to train members of your staff to be able to deliver the two live workshops (kickoff session and capstone session) that complement the Perspectives program. Participating staff would also learn skills to facilitate difficult conversations more broadly and be able to champion these values internally at your organization.

How much does it cost to bring this program to my organization?
